About the Board
The Upper Shore Workforce Investment Board was organized under the laws of Maryland in 1983 to function as, and to exercise the powers of, a “private industry council” for Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties as those functions were defined in the Job Training Partnership Act of 1982. They set policy for the portion of the statewide workforce investment system within the local area.
