Queen Anne's CountyPLANNING & ZONING DepartmentZoning & PERMITS DIVISION |
The Zoning & Permits Division
ensures the safety and compliance of building code requirements, permitting and
inspecting construction, enforcing the zoning ordinance and the critical area
ordinance.
Why are codes important?
Codes protect the public’s health, safety, and welfare by reducing potential hazards. They keep construction cost down by providing uniformity in the industry and by providing consistent standards in construction. Finally, codes contribute to the well being of the community by preserving life and safety, as well as maintaining property value over time.
All structural changes to a building, including additions, demolition, renovations and alterations require a permit. Plumbers and Electricians must have a Queen Anne's County license. Gas contractors must have a Queen Anne's County registration.
