 Resolution 10-11 recognized five furlough days for fiscal year 2011; Sept. 3, Nov. 24 and Dec. 23, 2010 and April 25 and May 27, 2011. All services, except for public safety, will be closed on these days.
 The first September meeting of the Queen Anne's County Commissioners will be Tuesday, Sept 7 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Liberty Building. This meeting was originally scheduled for Sept. 14 but was rescheduled due to Primary Election Day.

 Tickets for the Queen Anne's County landfills will be increasing to $45 for 15 tickets on July 1.

 The historic sites of Queen Anne's County are rich with the spirit and splendor of days gone by. From train stations to general mercantiles, knowlegeable docents will answer questions and guide visitors through the sites on the first Saturday of the month from May through October. The family friendly facility boasts the county's only free public beach on the Chesapeake Bay. The Matapeake Clubhouse and Public Beach is THE local destination for summer fun. The facility and beach are located just off Route 8 at 302 Marine Academy Drive in Stevensville and are easily accessible by foot or bicycle along the Kent Island South Trail.
