Dr. Joseph Ciotola is formerly Chief of Surgery at Kernan Hospital and is on the Medical Executive Committee at Kernan. He also is the former Managing Partner for Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland. Dr. Ciotola has more than 30 years of experience in Orthopaedic Medicine.
Dr. Ciotola began his career after graduation from the University of Maryland – Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his internship through the University of Maryland and served residencies at the University of Maryland and James Lawrence Kernan Hospital – Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Ciotola’s affiliations and achievements include Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland, Ambulatory Surgical Center (OACM ASC) – Baltimore, Maryland, Shock Trauma – University of Maryland – Baltimore Maryland, Saint Agnes Hospital – Catonsville, Maryland and Kernan Hospital, University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) – Baltimore, Maryland. He also holds a faculty appointment with the University of Maryland, Department of Orthopaedics – Baltimore, Maryland. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Maryland Medical Society, Maryland Orthopaedic Society, and Eastern Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Ciotola is a citizen of Queen Anne’s County and volunteers his time with our Department. He is proud of the County and feels his time is a way to give back to the community in which he lives.
