Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit Program

BACKGROUND
Queen Anne's County Commissioners established the Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) Program to provide affordable new housing to people with moderate incomes (individuals and families earning 80 percent of the median income for this area.)

Sales prices and rents are set through the MPDU regulations. The sales price effective through June 14, 2010 for two, three and four-bedroom MPDUs is:
 $132,197 (2 bedroom) $152,724 (3 bedroom) and $185,492 (4 bedroom)

To purchase or rent an MPDU, you must have a good credit rating, steady income, and the home must be affordable for your family's earnings. All purchases and leases are agreements between the applicant and the private sales or rental agents.

ELIGIBILITY
To qualify to rent or purchase an MPDU, an individual or family must earn
equal to or less than the following incomes:

80% of The BM Statistical Area as FY 2010
(as of June 2010)
Household Size  Income
1   $45,100
 2   $51,550
 3   $58,000
 4   $64,400
 5   $69,600

This income is based on gross annual income from all current sources for all wage earners in the family. Additionally, those who are interested in purchasing an MPDU may not have owned a home in the previous five years.
