The meetings are held at the Chesapeake Exploration Center location in Chester and open to the public. read more from homepage...The projected budget deficit for FY12 is $21 Million (prior to the County Reorganization Plan). Based on the current funding percentage of the 3 main sectors of county government; Education 50%, Public Safety 22% and General Government 28%, the Task Force is attempting to identify governmental cuts as follows: • Education, 50% of $21,000,000 = $10,500,000 • Public Safety, 22% of $21,000,000 ($4.62M less $300,000 previous reduction through County Reorganization Plan) = $4,320,000 additional cuts • General Government, 28% of $21,000,000 ($5.88M less $4,700,000 previous reduction through County Reorganization Plan) = $1,180,000 additional cuts The Task Force will meet again 7 p.m. April 7, at Chesapeake Exploration Center to discuss information gleaned through the Public Hearing and finalize their recommendations before presenting the Official Recommendations to the County Commissioners on April 12.
