Agricultural Preservation Board
The Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board was formed in 1990 and is based on Maryland State Law concerning such boards. The purpose of the board is to advise county government with respect to establishment of agricultural districts and the approval of purchases of easements by the foundation within the County; to assist in reviewing the status of agricultural districts and land under easement; to advise the Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Fund concerning County priorities for agricultural preservation; to promote preservation of agriculture within the County by offering information and assistance to farmers concerning the establishment of districts and purchase of easements and to perform any other duties assigned by the County.
