Aging Commission
The Commission on Aging was formed at the inception of the Department of Aging in 1981 as an advisory body as required by the Older Americans Act. It is patterned after the Maryland Commission on Aging. It is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The purpose of the Commission is to promote the welfare and betterment of the elderly in Queen Anne’s County; report and advise to the Department of Aging on the needs of the elderly; provide input on the Aging Area Plan; evaluate programs and services and set priorities; and, by the direction of the County Commissioners, conduct special studies related to the elderly.
