County Administrator Gregg Todd's Wrap Up of the March 21st QAC Commissioners' Meeting

The meeting on the 14th was postponed due to the non-blizzard of 2017. So, we condensed added the action items and legislation on to the budget meeting scheduled on March 21st. There was a closed session to discuss a pending contract of sale for a lot at Matapeake which was approved in open session and the appointment to the following boards which also were approved in open session:

  • Buddy Thomas to DESAC
  • Alison Davis to Employee Awards Committee
  • Julie Vallecillo to Council for Children and Youth

Tab 2, DPW:

  • Mowing Services 2017-2019 Bid; various locations – Blough's Lawn Care, LLC of Denton, $49,680 – approved

Tab 3, Action:

1. PWA letter to Centreville Town Council for Water & Sewer Allocation for 8 year extension to match the agreement with the YMCA. – approved

2. Kennard Alumni Association Request for MHAA grant funding – approved

3. Letter of support for Mainstreaming Rural Resilience Planning through Regional Collaboration on Maryland’s Eastern Shore – signed prior due to time deadline

4. Transportation Letters to MDOT Secretary Pete Rahn & Baltimore Metropolitan Council Director of Transportation Planning, Todd Lang in regard to Bay Bridge traffic - approved

5. Mosquito Control budget for 2017 – approved

6. Draft Standard Operating Policy – social media policy – approved

7. Capital Request for Vehicle Replacement for Community Services to purchase (3) Dodge Grand Caravans from Criswell Performance Cars of Gaithersburg in the amount of $63,936.00 via the state contract.- approved

Motion to void motion made last meeting to purchase 3 other Transit vehicles which were mispriced – approved

8. FY16 Dept of Parks Capital Equipment – Clivus Multrum composting bathroom for White Marsh Park for $51,500.00. – approved

9. Sudlersville Town request for support for 2017 Fireworks, $7,500. – motion made for $2,500 – approved

10. Budget Amendment CC-12 – Community Partnerships – recognize various grant revenues – approved

11. Budget Amendment CC-16 – Community Partnerships – reflects Governor’s Office of Children actual grant amount and corresponding expenses – approved

12. Budget Amendment CC-17 – Community partnerships - reflects Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention grant – approved

13. Budget Amendment CC-18 – Old Love Point Park- reflects POS money for playground – approved
