Learn to Crochet at the Centreville Library!
The Public Services Librarian will be sharing her crocheting skills. Learn to chain, single stitch and beyond with this beginners class. Make a square to use as a pot holder or dishcloth or keep going and make a scarf! Its just the beginning!
**Please bring your own crochet hook and preferred yarn. There will be extra yarn and hooks, but not necessarily for everyone and this way you can keep working on your project at home.
Bring your latest craft project, whether is crocheting, sewing, knitting or anything else you are attempting to make to work on with friends, share ideas and drink some tea or coffee.

The Kennard Alumni Association will present an evening celebrating "History, Heritage and Community" at the "Newly Restored" Kennard High School Cultural Heritage Center. Come and experience this walk through local African American History. This event will honor "Local Heroes" that became "Pioneers" in education, occupation, and community service. The program will also recognize local youth that have excelled in their schools and communities. This event is a "must see and hear" for all family members! The Kennard African American History Museum will be open with some "Special Displays" for this program. All proceeds benefit "The Kennard Alumni Scholarship Fund", supporting deserving seniors of Queen Anne's County.

Hands on horse workshop for kids 5 and up. Learning about horses and how to take are of them. Riding and or vaulting! Sit down, educational session about specific horse related topics such as anatomy, first aid, different breeds, colors, etc.
2 sessions can be accommodated based on age and proficiency. Call for more info.
Open to new beginner riders and existing students as well. Dress accordingly, we will be inside and out. Bring sneakers, boots, gloves and helmets. Feel free to bring a snack or drink, even though some will be provided.

Join us for a guided hike on CBEC's 510 acre peninsula for this unique opportunity to discover some of the natural features and treasures found on our property. A docent will lead participants on a journey to explore Winter Birds and Waterfowl: Bundle up and join us for a hike down Marshy Creek Trail and around Lake Knapp to learn about birds and waterfowl that call CBEC home in the wintertime. Most hikes will experience walking a 1.5 mile flat path around the center of our 510 acre peninsula. Many hikes will have a rest stop with restroom accessibility. Participants are encouraged to dress for weather and bring along a water bottle, small snack, and binoculars. Duration is approx. 2 hours. Trips are subject to cancellation due to weather or low enrollment.
Preregistration is required as there is a minimum and a maximum for this trip

(bring your chili in a pot already heated along with the empty slow cooker (crock pot), your slow cooker will hold someone else's chili, we will provide cooker liners)
